Highly credentialed and experienced CEO appointed to lead DVPC
Domestic Violence Prevention Centre (Gold Coast), today announced the appointment of Lucy Gregory to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
Ms Gregory rejoins DVPC after 10 years in Victoria, undertaking leadership roles as diverse as Senior Advisor to Rosie Batty as the inaugural Chair of the Victim Survivors Advisory Council, Manager of the first The Orange Door in Victoria, and assisting victim survivors to participate in the Royal Commission into Institutional Response to Child Sexual Abuse.
Ms Gregory has focused on domestic and family violence and sexual assault reform for more than 15 years, undertaking sector leadership roles in the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland and Victoria.
Most recently Ms Gregory was Manager of the Operational Guidance Team at Family Safety Victoria, leading the state-wide operational and practice guidance for The Orange Door Networks in Victoria. Her former role in the Queensland sector was with DVPC in 2011 as coordinator for the pioneering Gold Coast Domestic Violence Integrated Response, which last year marked its 25th anniversary.
“My intention as incoming CEO is to actively listen to, and partner with, the women, children, and young people victim survivors in our community, and to advocate relentlessly for systemic and societal change in their name. I am honoured and excited to have the opportunity to lead DVPC during this exciting period, as Queenslanders work together to improve the way we respond to domestic and family violence across the entire service system.” Ms Gregory said at today’s announcement.
She steps into the role following the retirement of former CEO, Rosemary O’Malley, who was one of the sector’s most highly respected and admired leaders.
For more than 13 years, including six as CEO, Ms O’Malley was pivotal in building an organisation that is recognised as one of the sector’s most credible and sustainable agencies.
