A crisis payment is a one-off payment from Centrelink equivalent to one week's payment that does not have to be repaid. A crisis payment is designed to help you if you are in severe financial hardship because you have experienced an extreme circumstance such as domestic violence. Claims must be submitted within 7 days after the event that led you to claim.

Victim Assist Queensland provides a range of support services and financial assistance for victims of crime. It assists in reimbursing the costs of goods and services needed by a victim to recover from the physical and psychological effects of an act of violence.
